Welcome Spring! March News

Hello Friends! Well, Blueberry Cottage has been buzzing since we last chatted.  Spring has sprung--isn't it glorious! I can't remember wishing for old man winter to hang his hat early quite so badly in a long time. We have had alot going on here. We're still cleaning up from last October's ice storm, seeds have to get started for this year's garden, a thorough spring cleaning needs to be tackled to rid the cottage of woodstove dust AND we have a new little fella to take care of.

Without further ado, meet Jasper. This little bunny was Lydia's birthday gift this year. She has been beggin' and pleadin' for a bunny for quite some time. Friends of ours raise bunnies and this was their gift to Lydia. Isnt' he sweet! He is so lovable and cute! I love this bunny!

Here he is meeting Mr. Timothy O'Hare, who I made several years ago (there is a link on my sidebar to take you to a tutorial if you want to make one too--Easter is coming!) and who has also seen better days.  Yes, I let my children and grandchildren play with the toys I make.  I think Jasper took a liking to him...LOL!

And if you rub his belly he lays on his back and stays there--it is the funniest thing!  Course, the dogs here aren't too sure about him. The corgi's keep trying to herd him and Rupert, our St. Bernard, just looks at him like, "great, another snack they won't let me have!".

With the warm weather there has been kite flying and lots of bike riding. Oh, it feels so delicious to get out in the fresh air and breathe deeply again of that sun kissed air. Lunch has been taken on the back deck, bird feeders are being watched for new life and the hope of bluebirds making their nests in our little nesting boxes, and a few days of hookie have been played from our schoolwork, so we can just be out in God's wonderful creation.

When I pop in this space next time it will be to announce a BIG SURPRISE for Blueberry Cottage readers. I am really excited about what is going to happen, I think you will love it too! No hints, I am keeping y'all in suspense....LOL! But, let me say God is soooo good and when we obey His leadings blessings follow.

All my best,

Suzanne

  1. We have planted onions, radishes and lettuce today. They should still do well if it gets cold again. My son during breaks with his schoolwork is working on the lawnmower as it looks like we will be mowing this weekend. My youngest is planting more radishes in our big garden. My daughter made beef jerky and today is helping her older brother with fixing the lawn mower.

Happy Birthday to your daughter. The rabbit should be a fun pet for her to carry everywhere.

  5. Dear Suzanne,

Jasper is adorable! I wonder what he thinks of Mr. Timothy O'Hare? :) I hope that the dogs warm up to him soon.

It looks like you still have plenty of snow! We've been deluged with rain for the past five days, and it's sprinkling now. I hope my potatoes and seedlings don't get washed away out in the garden!

    Love,

    Marqueta

  6. Hi Suzanne...I love bunnies! My girls had them when they were little. Our favorite was named Honey Bunny. He would stretch out with the girls when they did their homework.
    Much love,
    Linda

  7. Hi Suzanne, I love your little Jasper, what a cutie!! I chuckled when I saw his name, as it is the same name as my gelding. I had a pet bunny once, he used to sit on the couch and watch TV with me.
Can't wait for the surprise in next post!
