A TASHA TUDOR BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

Wishing all the kindred spirits who stop by here today a lovely Tasha Tudor Day. Today is Tasha's 97th birthday, had she lived.  What a legend and legacy she has left.

My fondness for Tasha has always been her art. The graceful way she captures the ordinary dailiness so lost in today's society. We live and enjoy a bit slower lifestyle here at Blueberry Cottage. Yes, we are busy here doing many things, but they aren't always the mainstream kind of activities enjoyed by most folks.

Here are a few things we are enjoying today that I think Tasha, too, would have savored in her daily routine.

Taking favorite bunny Jasper out for fresh air amongst the flowers.

Loving a surprise gift in the mail from my lovely Tasha friend LindaLou. She knows I adore bees and skeps and found this sweet cookie cutter for me. Also, tucked into the bag was fresh rosemary and a lavender candle.

Harvesting more basil from the Blueberry Cottage herb garden. All the delicious meals that this herb adds flavor to!

No Tasha celebration would be complete if one didn't spoil the corgyn a bit! Here Tasha gets a soothing scratch from Lydia. There is iced tea with a bit of fresh mint on the patio table to accompany a veggie and cheese dip for snacking.  I do believe a lazy afternoon reading Corgiville Fair, Lydia's favorite will be savored shortly.

Are you celebrating Tasha Tudor Day? If so do leave a comment letting us know how and you will be entered into a drawing for two books by Tasha! The contest is open to US residents only, unfortunately.  I will pick a winner Wednesday morn and announce a winner right here within this post.

  6. Beautiful post! Petticoats, bunnies and a peach corgi are just so perfect for the occasion! I picked green beans from the garden and spent most of the day outside puttering around (with my teapot on the picnic table) enjoying some long awaited summer weather.

  11. We celebrated by feeding our new goat Tank, he is a bottle baby which makes it so special. We harvested watermelons from our garden and a few basil leaves for our sandwiches. Red Raspberry Leaf tea went with the sandwiches. I finished the day with my book club girls discussing literature and beekeeping...keeping Tasha close in my thoughts the entire day.
