Saturday we took an impromptu trip to the beach. I (being the more spontaneous one of two) announced to my husband he wouldn't be working at all on our house that day. Packing lunch and all sort of beach necessities we headed out to the sunshine, water and peace that is the shore. No large crowds, expanses of sand all to ourselves, goodness to the soul. I happily sat doing emboidery while the breeze whipped sand at me from all angles--I did not care, I was enjoying a favorite place, seaside.
We walked the boardwalk and bought overpriced t-shirts, ate soooo good (so bad for you-ha!) fried dough loaded with sugar and buttery cinnamon, and enjoyed a day just caught up in alot of playing and relaxing. We all need those days once in awhile, change of scenery, change of pace.
On the ride home there was a lot of silence, good silence. The kind where you know each person is reflecting on the connection they enjoyed to God's glorious creation and his gift of peace, calmness and inner happiness. Yes, that was what was needed at that moment, that day.
Such beautiful pictures....I love the ocean, but don't get to see it often....looks like it was a wonderful fun day for your family...blessings
