This Christmas was what I would consider peaceful. You may wonder how I came to that conclusion when I share we have all been sick on and off for two weeks! My poor husband got the "tummy bug" Christmas eve, I had it the week before, and the coughs and upper respiratory stuff just lingers. But, yes, it was peaceful. We were forced to lay low, no company, no prime rib roasting in the tin kitchen, just gingerale, tea and toast for most. Let me say it wasn't exactly what I envisioned for the day, but we all stayed in our jammies all day, fire going, living room full of us all lounging watching movies together. Yes, it was all okay in the end. Jesus is still on the throne and always has been! We rejoiced in that knowledge and that in the next world there will be no sickness.
I do hope that all of you that stop by here had a lovely Christmas day, truly. We will have our prime rib and celebrate on New Year's Day with family and grandbabies, Lord willing. We'll exchange carefully thought out gifts and thank God that we are all together, able to love and cherish each other.
Let us all usher in the new year with hope for peace and abounding love amongst ourselves and all mankind.

I saw a beautiful American Girl doll in one of you photos. My daughter has An American girl web-site that has many give ways through-out the year.

Dear Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteI love low-key Christmases! Sometimes we have to have them forced on us, though, don't we? :)
Everyone looks like they had a very merry time, in spite of the bugs. I hope you get to have your more festive New Year's celebration!
