Hello 2014

Well, we rang in the new year together, with good friends and good food, of course.  This past year has had many challenges, in the form of health issues. Yet, God has been faithful to see us through. On Christmas eve, as we headed home from my Mum's, we were hit by another driver. I am still asking God, why? What will you have us learn from this trial? Everyone , but me, is alright. I sustained a few more injuries that I will now struggle with. Yet, God is faithful. He will see us all through.

The propensity to see the negative is always strong. For 2014 I shall choose to see the many blessings in our lives. The smiling and healthy faces of my children are one of my greatest joys! To meditate on the sparkle in life--the ordinary, everyday moments that can escape our notice, that is what I shall choose for 2014. Yes, answers to health issues are still at the top of the list. But, like Paul, whose thorn was not taken away, I will wait and learn--and grow closer to my God and Savior. May this be such a year for you all, dear, encouraging friends who pop by here. I pray you too, will grow closer to God this year, and notice the little sparkles of everyday living.....the true blessings that can disappear in a whisper if we are not still enough to listen, to notice.

We are in for a good storm. One can step outside and smell it in the air, it does have a distinct smell! I look forward to hunkering down by the fire, knitting a it, enjoying Bible study with my family. Christmas has passed , the new year begun, but I want to just linger in the moments of stillness that this season brings just a bit longer. Happy New Year Friends! Welcome to you , 2014.

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13 NLT

  2. Happy 2014 Suzanne. It's been a while since I last popped in after becoming an occasional blogger but doing my best to keep up with some of those wonderful people I connected with when I first began my blog and what is happening in their lives. I am sorry to hear about your accident on top of health issues but encouraged by your attitude and response. My first devotional (Spurgeon's Morning and Evening) for the year was all about rejoicing in the Lord. Yes, definitely going to be enjoying those everyday moments and finding the sparkles in each and every day. We have so much to be thankful for. Praying for you right now.
